Is Homer Alaska Worth Visiting. This is my detailed recap of one of our trips. Seward is 100 miles south of anchorage.
Homer takes some time and planning to get to, but it’s totally worth it! Homer’s unique position on the edge of kachemak bay in the kenai peninsula makes it an ideal spot for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts. I'm not a fisherman and have completely enjoyed my two visits to homer.
There is over 80 miles of hiking trails to explore and countless camping possibilities.
There is over 80 miles of hiking trails to explore and countless camping possibilities. This also means you won’t find big cruise tours here. When you top the hill at baycrest coming into homer, you will get one of the best views in all of alaska, well worth the drive, and homer is an rv friendly city. Homer sits on kachemak bay, an inlet off the gulf of alaska and cook inlet.
